3D scanner for forensic purposes

The 3D scanner has become a common measuring device over the past 15 years. It is increasingly used to document crime scenes and traffic accident sites, to analyze body height or simulate traffic accidents. Body height analysis is a matter of minutes. The advantage of measurement using a 3D laser scanner is its speed, millimeter accuracy, simple operation and especially clarity when providing evidence in court proceedings.HDR photo documentation, a point cloud, the possibility of virtual tours, the possibility of viewing in a virtual reality environment and other ways of viewing the obtained data allow this data to be easily shared between various police units. A very important factor in the investigation is, of course, the ability to prove that the digital data has not been altered. This option was not neglected, of course. Each 3D RAW scan created by a FARO 3D scanner contains a digital signature, so it is possible to prove at any time that the data has not been altered during processing.

The photo gallery includes, inter alia, a traffic accident simulation created based on a 3D scan made using a Faro Focus S350.
